I have found a total of four fake camel toe coins, I gave one to another collector. All four were found roll hunting from bank rolls in Vancouver B.C. this year.

Hey all, I was the person who originally discovered the first 75 coins way back in 2020. I still work at the retail store in York Region.

I haven't seen many of the fakes anymore. I still come across them occasionally but they are definitely rare now. Not like back in the day when there are 5-10 in each cash register nearly every single day

Excellent news, but I believe it is a very light sentence. Hardly worth calling it a deterrence.

I suspect that there was more than 10 times the number reported that actually came to NE Toronto from China at a nickel a coin..

I find it interesting that the fine was paid via electronic ....lolol
SLAP on the WRIST! a ^&%* joke.
Also of note.......this all went unreported until Mr. McIntosh started digging. He is a good one.
Please note the mitigation plan of the RCM. What a joke. They imply it is a GTA Issue...........ummmmmmmm....idiots.

So far up here in the Great White North I have found 36 camel toes. But they have slowed down.

So if I understand this correctly, the guy serves no jail time, isn't required to reveal his suppliers and gets a 100k penalty after making around 75k. He should have paid back the 80k and then pay a 100k fine. What about our tax money paying for all the work by the RCMP and RCM employees.

Newest Fake Toonies

Just when I thought I had a handle on easily picking out the Fake toonies, aka known as cameltoes, the Canadian Coin News magazine reported a very significant new fake. .https://canadiancoinnews.com/new-va...fake-toonie/

Seems like collectors could spot these but the general public won't.

much easier to "pick out" than the camel toe version.

Found this camel toe today out of a roll from Royal Bank in Vancouver, riddled with cracks and a very mottled surface.
