Next up is North Dakota. Also in Silver and Cameo. This is my favorite of the 3.

I just remembered that the US Mint struck a commemorative medal for the 1990 centennial of Yosemite. Its reverse design includes the logo of the National Park Service - which includes a small bison on it.

As modern US commemorative coins are essentially silver medals with a historic/symbolic denomination (there's more than $1 worth of silver in a silver dollar after all!), I thought you might be interested in adding the Yosemite medal to your collection. The bison is small, but it's there! The medal is available in large (3") and small (1-1/2") sizes.

@hfjacinto, that National Park $5 gold commem is a great design. I wish I had picked that one up at time of issue.

I've had a lifelong love affair with the Bison. My parents sold Dakin stuffed animals as a side gig in the early 80s when I was a baby, and my first stuffed animal wasn't a teddy bear or a puppy, it was an extra-stocked buffalo. That's where it began.

I have dabbled in the Buffalo nickles at times. I'm rather afraid to open that box, because I know my ability to control myself is minimal.

I just need to commit and make this life count.
