commems CCF Master Historian of USA Commemoratives United States 12320 Posts	Posted 08/23/2020 10:09 am I just remembered that the US Mint struck a commemorative medal for the 1990 centennial of Yosemite. Its reverse design includes the logo of the National Park Service - which includes a small bison on it. As modern US commemorative coins are essentially silver medals with a historic/symbolic denomination (there's more than $1 worth of silver in a silver dollar after all!), I thought you might be interested in adding the Yosemite medal to your collection. The bison is small, but it's there! The medal is available in large (3") and small (1-1/2") sizes. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved. My parents sold Dakin stuffed animals as a side gig in the early 80s when I was a baby, and my first stuffed animal wasn't a teddy bear or a puppy, it was an extra-stocked buffalo. That's where it began. I have dabbled in the Buffalo nickles at times. I'm rather afraid to open that box, because I know my ability to control myself is minimal.
