I am wondering about the quality of strikes for Standing Liberty Quarters--the head on mine (straight graded by PCGS) looks pretty strong, but the shield looks really weak. Is this common? I am curious--before I reveal PCGS's grade, what do you guys think?   |

I would agree - but also lean toward AU-58 on this one.

All the rivets on the shield are present and it is close to a FH, so not a bad strike. Looks to be MS63.

A beautiful coin for sure!!  ! The shield could be a weak strike. I believe it's the highest point on the coin. Not doubt about the Full Head! MS65......but what do I know.  Edited by USSID18

Going to also side with the ones saying LDS, but does have a good strike. I'm on the fence...AU-58 to MS-63FH

tough one to grade by the photo. nice head and TOES. not sure if the weak strike is showing as rub. I think this one needs to be in hand. AU58 or MS63FH. personally I like it.
can someone tell me what LDS means or where I can find these 3-letter acronyms that everyone seems to use. in all the years I've been collecting I've never seen these

I thinking there's no way in heck T-BOP would reference Church of Latter- Day Saints  |

I think it means "late die state," meaning that some of the details would be weaker or rubbed off at that point.
