I don't think the die used to mint the 1969-S DDO was used enough to make it to a second stage. They have to have caught it very quickly. That's why they are so rare.

No. Look up the actual DDO of this coin. If you find one, the doubling is dramatic enough you will not have to wonder.

This one looks kind of late stage or something doesn't it?

@dbeck Looks like that one was just worn from being in circulation (not the same as being a late stage die). Also, I think it's pretty obvious from a picture of the real thing just how strikingly different it is from your coin. You would see it if yours was DDO-001.

Agree w/SC. The classic '69 S DDO-001 is very obvious. For example, just look at LIBERTY--compare image of the coin first posted and the most recent photo (above).

Please, one coin per thread. And I agree with John1, way too many photos.
I agree, both are not late stage.

As others have said the real variety in the last image is not a late die state coin. No weakness or missing areas where the bust meets the field. Minimal die flow lines. No weakness or distortion of the letters closest to the rim.
Your coin appears to be an MDS coin with environmental damage, judging by the pitting and pockmarks on both sides.

Well it can't be a later die state as less than 100 of these were struck with that die before it was noticed. So all are of the VEDS die state. Just a circulated example.
