I got my 2 D'S , 2 S'S , 1 CC and 4 O'S today. I am certain no 70's
My CC is nice it has a few marks
My 4 O'S all have some Marks , One has some light toning which is interesting . I will keep this one I think even know it has a big hit in the hair.
My 2 S'S one has a small milk spot, both have a few small marks and what looks like some light cabinet rub
My 2 D's man I dont know, The obverse on both have stripes ( on the coin not holder) . Quite a few small hits too. Hopefully the Denver mint can hire some reliable help.

In my opinion they really blew this release so far in my eyes. Everything about it seems rushed with lack of care.
I know they are short staffed and pretty stressed but out of 9 coins I received today I really only think the CC will even get a 69.
Disappointing . I was going to keep one of each but I will probably only keep the CC maybe and the toned O and try and trade the rest. Hopefully my 1 Philly looks better and that one of my 3 Peace dollars is nice.

Hi All. I received the 2011 ASE OGP 5-coin box that I ordered on ebay. My intent is to use this to house/display the 5 2021 Morgans. However, as we know, Morgans have a smaller diameter than ASEs. Anyone have suggestions on how to adapt the 2021 Morgans to the 2011 ASE slots? Are there capsules that can be ordered (e.g., Airtites) that have the outer diameter of the OGP ASE capsules yet fit the smaller Morgans snugly? A brief Google search hasn't turned up much but I haven't really looked that deeply.

The fit is very close, by the way, if you haven't already tried something similar. Maybe two or three millimeter diamter difference. My first thought is to somehow bolster the circumferance of the Morgan OGP capsules. I may try find some dark navy cloth and cut into strips and attempt to wrap the edges of the capsules to create a tighter fit. The thought being that dark navy would blend into the existing slots.

Any other suggestions out there?

Got everything but the CC and O (still waiting for the Mint to hand that package off to USPS, if they even packed it).

I did have an issue where several were still in the capsule, but loose in the packaging itself when I opened them. All seemed to be in decent shape, but the D's seemed to have the most "blemishes" so far. Loved how the Peace dollar pops.

I got the Peace and P Morgan and the D&S are out for delivery so I should have all by today. My duplicates are either in the USPS and tracking are waiting to be picked up. So far the CC and O look to me perfect, the Peace and P Morgan have some minor dings like JasonKFlo. I can sell the duplicates or send them back. I'm still on the fence. My local dealer and I are discussing a sale but I'm wondering if it makes more sense to try and sell them on the Swap and Sales?

jBuck or other MOD, is it permissible to do a post asking if there is interest in buying these on the Swap and Sale forum? Or does it have to be an actual sale? You can PM me and delete this part.

Are you jesting, or...do you really feel like that? Are you going to return them?

I really just don't like the luster, or the lack of it, on the ones I received. They're all very matte and have no cartwheel luster at all. They have this flat wet looking shine that's very unattractive to me. It almost looks like they've been lightly whizzed.

The 2021 Morgan/Peace look closer to UNC ASE than classcial Morgan/Peace with luster and cartwheel. But to me they shine more than UNC ASE. I'm still glad they made them to honor 100th. Keepers for me.

Which makes me ask maybe a dumb question. Did the classical Morgan/Peace have the luster/cartwheel the day they were struck, or like fine wine 100+ years of aging make them this way? I assume the whole process back then, planchets, dies, flow lines etc. created this beauty that we all love, not so much aging?

It does say in the product description that they are presented in an uncirculated finish.

I like the finish. I am glad they did not go out of their way to mimic original look because I am sure it would not have turned out well.

I am also glad they did not make these proof because of all the "tribute" garbage as seen on TV.

Meanwhile, my Peace dollar "is currently in transit to the destination."

As I look at the history of making the 2021 Morgan/Peace, there's nothing there saying they wanted them to look like the luster/cartwheel of the classics. Trump signed the bill in 2020 which allowed for 90% planchets. But since the Mint switched to 99.9% silver in 2019 it's understandable they wouldn't make or special contract for 90%. Trying to replicate the classics dies finish I assume would have been more costly and challenging?

Collectors were wondering if the 2021 Morgan/Peace would have classics luster/cartwheel, but that really wasn't part of the process of making them IMO.

Strange timing on the coins headed my way. I received the CC on Monday. Then, late yesterday, the D and S in one package, and one P in another. No O mint yet and I'm expecting 1 more D & S, 2 more P's and three Peace. Two packages due later today (I expect one is the O and the other another set of D & S.) Tracking is starting to pop up on other packages which should be the remaining P and Peace coins.
