If the mint doesn't have enough silver, then who has it? Things are pretty bad when the US Mint says they don't have silver. I was interested in these at first but I'd rather have a 1921 Peace dollar anyway.

Quote: How about giving people that are in the loyalty program (or were last year) first crack. That way they reward the people that were actually buying their products regularly instead of the scalpers. Think this is a fine idea.

Well if they don't have enough silver, then mint me a clad Morgan and clad Peace that I may hold in my own hands and look at.

Quote: There is no good way to sell 175000 coins to 300000 buyers. The winners will always be happy and the losers will always be sore. They can't just make more. No one wants to see the day when mint purchases lose money as soon as they are purchased. The problem is that it is probably 50,000 collectors who want one and 250,000 bots (including bio bots) buying the max of 10 to resell at a profit.

I am all for giving those in the loyalty program first crack and one per household limit in the first 24 hours.

No one wants to see the day when mint purchases lose money as soon as they are purchased. There may not be a good way, but there's certainly a better way than they did it. A low household limit combined with prioritized ordering for loyal customers would go a long way towards remedying the situation.

Quote: My fear was that they could be cutting the amount of coins to be minted and might even have to cancel some of the coins that have already been ordered. Highly doubtful. The planchets have already been ordered according to this Article: https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...nnual-seriesFrom the article Quote: The Mint was able to secure 1,075,000 total planchets, for production spread among six different coins at three Mints, Ryder said. If you add up all the coins: 175,000 CC 175,000 O 175,000 D 175,000 S 175,000 P 200,000 Peace You get 1,075,000 which means they have 0 extra.

I dont know anything about a loyalty program. I doubt I'm in that, but I've purchased at least one item from the mint every year for the past 10-15. Between the website heartburn and never knowing when my local USPS personnel will monkey with my packages, I'm getting very close to pitching in the towel on Mint buying. I did get one of each this time at the last minute. Now let's see if they arrive...

You're in the loyalty program after you make three purchases in a calendar year. This gets you free shipping for the rest of the year.

I like the idea of a HHL of 4 in the first day of ordering because the HHL is removed the next day. At least that was explained earlier in this thread. Even better would be able to enrollment. You would have the peace of mind that you would be receiving a coin. My ASE proof enrollment was reduced to 25 coins. But, I know I will be getting a coin. They could do the same for the Morgans and Peace dollar. I don't believe the mint. They made similar statements after the V75 fiasco. Nothing was learned or changed. The mint has the remaining Morgans and Peace dollar in a TBD status on the production schedule. I expect a statement the coins will be available at the end of the year.

The bulk buyers are going to get what they want.
Lets say for example the Mint releases 100 coins with a HHL of 10, The Bulkers could send out 10 bots trying to buy 10 coins each for a total of 100. with the rest of us fighting to get what could be gotten.
Now say the Mint lowers the HHL to 1, the Bulkers will just send out 100 bots to buy 1 coin each AND increasing the Traffic by 10 fold with and the rest of us now fighting even more traffic on the site trying to snag the coin.

They should open USMintAuctions.gov and simply list 175,000 coins and you either bid msrp for an unspoken coin or outbid the current lowest offer, and then it all closes after 24 hours.

They might as well grade and slab them too. After all, the filters for certified coins on ebay already has a box to check along with ANACS PCGS NGC and ICG.

Do away with the 10% advanced purchase to the chosen few, split up into single coin days, lower the HHL to 1 or 2, 3 total if they leave them as 2 different mints on same day, and...multiple, random unannounced on sale dates and times with 5-10 minute availability windows, then shut down. That would spread them out and limit the bottlenecks, make them available throughout the day/night/overnight and limit the recruiting of groups. I think those of us that really want them wouldn't mind checking back (many are doing it now for the 'CC' and 'O' scraps).
