In Sec.2.Findings, item(6) in part says, "must begin to be minted again". I don't see anything saying that the mint is only to mint and sell them in 2021. So could the mint sell these coins again every year? Your thoughts?

It looks like the text that limited it to 2021 was replaced in the latest bill.

Old H.R.3757

Quote:
(B) an inscription of the year "2021"; and

New H.R.6192

(B) an inscription of the year of minting or issuance; and

I think they can and will mint this to infinity. It'll probably become a new bullion issue.

The mint will milk this bill until us collectors-sucker drained of our pocket-book.

@jbuck-

My main concern with these will be the design. If they are EXACT to the 1878-1904 Morgan and 1921 Peace dollar designs I will be over the moon excited. I know mintages are a concern for a lot of collectors, but for me that will all depend on the design they go with.

I hope they do some updates on the Peace dollar, like do it in high relief and improve the strike as many Peace dollars were soft striked with flat details. I hope also for a proof strike.

On the Morgan I hope for proof like , the proof like Morgan's are beautiful.

I would be a sucker for a 2021 DMPL Morgan, but not a proof.

I just hope the price isn't too high, otherwise I will just have to try in the numismatic after market later on, based on the knowledge that most modern new issue mint product is too highly priced.

I hope you both get what you want. I am optimistic, if the 2014 Silver Kennedy half dollars are any indication.

I am excited about H.R. 6192, the 1921 Silver Dollar Coin Anniversary Act, recently signed into law which marks the 100th anniversary of the Mint's transition of production from the Morgan to the Peace dollar. Thank you to Representative Mark Amodei, Representative Andy Barr, Representative Emanuel Cleaver, Senator Mike Enzi, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee members Thomas J. Uram and Mike Moran, as well as the U.S. Mint and Treasury Department's Legislative Affairs offices for their strong support in getting this new legislation passed. The legislation authorizes the Mint to release new Morgan and Peace coins in 2021 marking their 100th anniversary. Below are the Mint's artist renderings on a portion of what you can expect later this year from the United States Mint.

Looks like the Peace may be high relief? Morgan looks like 1921 design?

Excited to see how these will be issued (mints, finish, mintage - please no 2,021 special limited edition!)

Here's the thing, the Peace dollar is nice because it is a blend of both lack of detail and a lot of detail. Leaving out any detail looks bland, and adding any makes it look almost toyish. Faith to the original should be their goal. Match relief. If you want to fix some issues that plagued series (weakly struck reverses on Peace $1) that's fine, but keep it original.
