Hi all! This 1931 Wheat penny has very interesting damage marks. My current opinion would lead me to post mint damage but I wanted to get other opinions. Has anyone seen die damage of this nature?

Heavy wear and PMD. It didn't leave the mint looking like that.

no abrasions. the coin doesn't appear distorted as if it was struck by something while in circ. there is no staining as if a chemical eroded or otherwise removed the missing material...

it's as if the copper-alloy material just neatly "fell-out". I'm guessing the raw material couldve arrived flawed at the mint from the supplier...the flaw didnt reveal itself till much later in circ
