I bought this one many years ago at a flea market in Denton, Texas for $1. It looks like about a VG-8/10 "details" due to the damage to me. I figure it's a $30 coin, or is that too high?

Maybe worth a small premium over melt due to the harsh cleaning

I'll say VG details (cleaned).

VG Details sounds right. As far as value, always tough on raw "details". $10-$15? Regardless, can't go wrong for a buck. What else can you get for $1....

It's cleaned but pretty. I have an 1883 nickel that was obviously cleaned, and I bought it from GovMint.com; they're supposed to be a trustworthy seller! I only buy certified now.

Yes, $30 is way too high. It looks like a $10 coin tops in that condition.

Agree with VG details. The harsh cleaning probably reduces the value by more than half.
