Are Zinc Rots Holes Or Bubbles? Can They Be In A Straight Line?

I came across a penny that looks very odd to me but after reading a few posts, I'm now convinced that the odd looking penny are zinc rots. Only thing is the E in United & T is States have a straight line above it & it makes it look like it's doubled. It has bubbles in a line on the side but does zinc rot do this? Coinfrog Bedrock of the Community United States 94367 Posts	Posted 11/06/2020 3:40 pm Zinc rot is effectively plating bubbles that have erupted, exposing the zinc underneath.
