I think the long term average is around one IH per 40 boxes.

i have only gone thru 3 boxes in the last month since I got back into coins. I have found about a rolls worth of wheaties with 1920 being the oldest. no IHC. several from the '50's are bu. absolutely beautiful coins. several other bu's from all decades. no kind of variations that I've seen. I'm sure I missed a couple, but.. just seems a little weird. i'll try ti get some pics up soon, either here or the grading forum

Just searched two boxes and found my second 2000 WAM. Also 22 wheats with a couple in the teens and a die clash.

Here's some pics of the highest grade Wheat I've found roll searching bank boxes. There's some nice luster poking around.

I have been reading this thread for a long while and wanted to thank everyone here for an outstanding disscussion/topic! As of yesterday I have gone through just 10,000 pennies and finally found a keeper a nice 1929 wheat, granted I have found wheats but nothing like this. I would agree with 84DoubleVision. I actually have 5 boxes of pennies and 5 boxes of nickels coming for Friday. They should keep me busy over the weekend.

Not a Lincoln, but I thought this was interesting... I'm about a thousand miles from the Canadian border, so I average about 2 Canadian cents per box. Apparently this week I picked up somebody's hoard- the coins on the left are all King George (oldest was 1940), of the pile on the right, only a couple are newer than 1980. That's from three boxes. It pretty much doubled my CAN pile, and got me all three types for 1947.

That's a huge Canadian cent haul! I usually get about 10 per box.

The 2006 cents are notorious for having poorly defined steps. I gave up thinking the master die was bad from the start. However, last night I found one that is close to FS! I almost had a heart attack!
