Went back to the bank to get the new pennies, the guy asks "How many you want? 25, 50, 100?" I say $25 worth, so he goes to the vault, comes back, and says "I can sell you ten rolls." He should have sold me a box, since he offered it. It's not my fault he didn't know he was only supposed to sell ten rolls. Oh well. I guess the good news is, I got some rolls, and to my suprise, they were splitters, not log cabins, like the lady before said they would be.

At least it wasn't only 4 rolls! The most I've been able to get from the only bank I've found them at is 4 rolls at a time. And when I go back the next day...Gone! I've got eight rolls of Cabins and a single Splitter from circulation. Haven't found any rolls yet.

Some good news. My mom stopped at the same bank today and since she is well-liked there, they sold her 20 rolls! Thanks Mom!

I broke down and ordered 10 rolls direct from the mint I did get several rolls of both cabin and splitter P and D here on the forum , these will be formative years I believe but in mint wrappers.

Today was slim pickings looking for half dollar rolls, so I grabbed 2 rolls each of cents, nickels and dimes. Found one wheat, a 1912.

You know what one of the greatest things about roll hunting is? It is a pretty good bet that you will not be pulling a Chinese counterfeit out of any of them!

I've pulled a half a dozen counterfeits from plastic wrapped roll...beimg able to see the edge and knowing they weren't clad and hoping to be silver. instead I find crappy coins that go "thud" when you drop them on a hard surface and can actually be bent with your hands. Who's to say that these weren't made by Chinese?

I had a 1940 Canadian penny from a Fed box I'm searching thorugh right now. I'll post the full results when I make it through. All 2009 pennies are rare in this area.
