Pocket-Change : If it was 1965 you might be asking the same question about wheat cents. The 'older' coins always end up worth more, why not pull them for a cent each while you can?

Ha! You have a great point. This gives me an excuse to hold on to them. I don't know why, but having stacks of Lincolns around just makes me happy.

I had some nice finds in my last set of 10 rolls. There was a dime, a Canadian penny, an '09 log cabin cent, and two wheat backs.

This wouldn't be a doubled-die, would it?

Here's a nice wheat back I found. The obverse, however, has some crud on it. Too bad.

That's what I call a "heart attack" cent. LOL When you first see a 1969-S that looks like a doubled die, you about fall over because it'd be worth a fortune. However, upon closer inspection you see that it's machine doubled. Nonetheless, it is an excellent example of a MD cent. I'd definately hang on to it!

This is the first 1800's IHC I've found while penny searching!

I've found some 1906's and 1907's IHC'S but nothing earlier.

It looks like an open 3 and "Liberty" is pretty well wiped out so I can't tell if this is a DDO, its probably a "good grade".

It was in a $50.00 bag of cents from the coin counting machine that I purchased from my local bank!

I'm doing way better with bags than rolls as I've also found a 1994P 1DR 001 in the same bag in a real nice MS grade along with a 98 and two 2000 WAM'S.

This coin caught my eye tonight while searching, so I kept it. Great example of Machine Doubling and it has a pleasant tone. I like the MD halo around the head:

I found my first 2009 D LP2 yesterday. This is surprizing since I live in NJ and all we get for new stuff is P mint. I didn't think the D mint coins would travel to NJ so fast!

Hi all, new to the forum, but been lurking for awhile.

Started in on a box of cents last night. Had two wheats (1940 and 1953) and 2 LP2's in the first 3 rolls and thought I was in for a good night. 10 rolls down by bedtime and that was the extent of my wheats, but did pick up another 4 LP2's, lots of BU 08-D's too.

Welcome DylansDad to CC! Get the camera out and post some pics for us!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Dumped out a roll tonight and the bright luster from this coin jumped out at me right away.
