Quote: Some nice reds, some early wheats, about 10 each 1970S and 1969S but no winners, and my 5th steel. Still winners....nice finds!

Some really nice finds by members in the last number of postings.
My last box was not quite as good. 4 CAN, wheats 23, 29s,42d,44d,46d,48,52d,53,57,58d. None of them hole fillers or upgrades. The one good one was a 1972s Au upgrade.

This is one of my favorite threads - I enjoy seeing peoples good fortunes and updates on what they are finding. I usually like to post after a pick to give folks the ratios I'm finding and if lucky, pic's of the finer/odd stuff.

Brasher doubloon. I was surprised. Thought they were much larger. On the serious side, I don't search bank rolls, but I do look at my change and I don't think I've seen so much as a Wheat cent in 30 years. Whenever I see someone who finds a 90 per cent silver coin I figure either someone died and his heirs don't realize what they have, or some kid broke into dad's coin collection for candy money.

Yeah, me too! I was just happy to find one though. I didn't think VDBs were floating around still, but now the search is for the S VDB from circulation!! Happy Hunting!!

I am so jealous of that 1909 find! Way to go!
I picked up some rolls of pennies the other day and got 7 rolls that were almost entirely 1981D in great red condition. I though that seemed odd.... Anything special about 1981D? I can't seem to find anything extraordinary about that year/mint.

Someone may have dumped part of the overflow from their collection. Not sure about any varieties off the top of my head, but worth checking into. I picked up some cents yesterday - looks like I got someone's copper dump. All LMCs so far, but everyone of them is copper ($30).
