Nice IHC. Even with the wear it is still pretty cool. The LWC is very nice as well!

skibs - Nice on the IHC! Still doing its job after 127 years! Cool!

Brian - that's an amazing number of 2009s! Don't forget to look for DDRs in that mix!! Visit Coppercoins for the particulars or Wexler's listings.

I found these pennies in a box this weekend and was wondering what happened to them to be this bright. I'm sure they are cleaned some how.

Box worth
26 LWCs (best was 1919-P, 1920, 1930-D)
5 Really good LMCs (inc a 1959 in the top left thats pure red and great condition, hard to tell from my pic. Definitely the best 59 I've ever found!).

Wow, interesting. Need the chemists to weigh in on this. If you do not get an answer here, feel free to post them in the US Modern forum.

I went to the bank today to pick up some change to go through. The head teller indicated that she had several bags. Included in the bags were three bags of cents for a total of 15,000 cents. While looking at a bag I noticed four wheat cents right on top within a couple of inches of each other. I asked the teller about them. She said that someone's Grandmother had passed away and that they were bringing in a large amount of change and this was just the start. She also said that the grandmother had been saving them a very long time. I came home and opened the three bags and pulled out the wheat cents. The total that I pulled out was 3,710. I noticed that several of the pennies dated between 1948 and 1953 appeared to be about uncirculated. I checked just a hand full of dates. I did see three 1910 and several others from the teens and twenties. I probably even missed several in the quick sort that I did. I usually find about 1,700 wheat cents per year. I think that this year may be slightly higher.

Just finished sorting $10 bank wrapped, results ...

Wheats - 1 1941
Canadian - 1 1981
2009 - 0

Bummer right?

Nope. 66 BU memorials, mostly from the 90's and 2000's, 8 from the 80's, and 1 1971. Not bad for 20 rolls I think.
