Hi all, Did another box this weekend. Not much for quantity of wheats/canadians, but the dates made up for it: 22 2009 Lincoln Bicentennials 5 Canadians (all newer) 8 wheats: -1920 -1924 -1928-D -1939 -1950 -1954 -1956-D -1958 The 50, 54, and 58 were all hole fillers for my son's 41-74 book.  |

Hey guys! I believe I found a gold plated penny? I have a side by side image of it next to a regular penny. Comment to let me know if it is: actually gold plated? and should I keep it? Thanks for any responses!   |

It is probably brass coated. Sometimes zinc planchets get dissolved into the pure copper bath used to plate them. This changes it from a copper plating to a brass plating.
Either way (gold or brass), it does not really add value other than for conversation. I would keep it just to have an example.

A little over 3 boxes came from the treasury. The remaining rolls/boxes came from my 4 local branches of my credit union.

Hi there. New around here again. Just started to participate last year and then got wrapped up in family matters. I've been collecting OBW rolls for a few years now & I'm a fanatic over Error Lincoln Cents. I purchased a roll of 1966 pennies about 2 yrs ago and just noticed that I hadn't really examined them yet, plus I knew that I had some top notch DDO in there, so I started a couple of ads through ebay and gave a couple of them an up close examination. Here's where I'd appreciate the most honest opinion and advice. ( Because as of now, one of these coins is up for auction and I'd like to know what I might or might not be letting go for cheap). DDO.... of course, but now the reverse is doubled quite well too, most importantly is all the errors wrapped up in the reverse memorial. I'll add my pics and could I get some feedback? I'm only a self taught amateur at best and well this seems it might be pretty important. Thanks so much.      |
