Thanks, aristarchus. Yes, will likely just use some of my sister's nail polish remover tomorrow when I see her... Believe it or not, it's only the 3rd oldest one I've found this past year-ish of CRH. An 1889 and 1891 beat it... and it's only the 4th oldest coin I've found (1887 V nickel). And Dual-brain, I smelled it. By the way, silica gel is very tasty.

Nice Cud on the 1976 cent! I've never found an 1911. Great box! Quote: it's only the 3rd oldest one I've found this past year-ish of CRH. An 1889 and 1891 beat it... and it's only the 4th oldest coin I've found (1887 V nickel). Great early dates. My earliest IHC is 1895 from last year.

Very nice Cud, sich0015! And thanks, aristarchus123! Been surprised to find 3 pre-1900 Indians so far... Just wondering if I'll find a coin more than 130 years old in my hunting adventures at some point.

Quote: How is an 80 year old mint state coin circulating? I don't know! I took it out of circulation, I didn't put it there! It was lying face up when it fell out of the roll, and I had to look twice at the date because I couldn't believe it was a 1937. In hand, this coin is red, a very nice looking wheat to come from a circulated roll. Congrats on 1000 posts John77!

Congrats on 1000 posts John77! Lucky you... all but one red wheatie I've found in the wild has been from the 1950s (I found a red 1944 last year)... And thanks on the 1,000 posts... I completely forgot how close I was to that milestone... I had to capture the moment since you mentioned it!
