Today, Nov. 30, I got from the bank a new $50 bill, with the new signature Wilkins- Macklem. It is serial number GME 7646507. I do not know when this signature started- the closest I have found is GMA 0031608, which has the Wilkins-Poloz signature. I have not found this signature on any other bills, so far. Best of luck in hunting!

There is an unconfirmed change over to Wilkens - Macklem signatures at serial number GME6255015.
Source: Canadian Paper Money site, serial number data base.
GMF has also been released and reported.

Also, in late December 2020, collectors found the Wilkins-Macklem signature on INE $5.00 No IND prefixes over 9M have been reported in the SNDB, so the exact change-over (whether IND or INE) SN range & prefix for the new signature remains unclear. According to the latest CGPM Catalogue the $10 Vertical Banknote also has a signature changeover from Poloz to Macklem at FFE0855000.
The W/P signature combination for the FFEs though hardly scarce will be worth a premium over the W/M prefix.

Lane-Macklem signatures were reported on the $50 with the GMR prefix. According to a post on the CPMF: Quote:

From GMN 6120000 onward the new signature combo is "Lane-Macklem" Timothy Lane is not a Senior Deputy Governor so this is the first time a non-senior deputy has had a signature on the BoC series. It also means there'll be a change-over prefix with the "Wilkins-Macklem" signature combo & hopefully that won't be a 50/50 split (but rather a tougher, more interesting change-over like the uncommon W-M IND). We'll also get another change-over when they put Senior Deputy Rogers signature on the subsequent design too (so it will be interesting to see how long the Lane-Macklem signature lasts)! Lots of interesting signature varieties to keep an eye on! |

Even $5.00 Wilkins Poloz with IND has over 701 notes reported so pretty common & the wrong side of the change-over. You want Wilkins -Macklem IND (as I posted on 01/10) with only 34 reported. That will be the tougher one (1M print run). We just don't have enough data to pass a verdict on the INK but since its range is supposed to extend up to 6.2M it will likely be common & the Lane-Macklem will be the tough one (3.7M). 60 Wilkins-Macklem INK have been reported but its release has been a trickle & its unlikely it will be tough, but again, its too soon to pass a verdict. |
