Yes, Large date Brown, does have a small die crack and the FG is hard to see.

Hi.. I am new and was wondering if the 8 on the 84 would be an easier reference when determining if the 82 has small or large numbers to the untrained eye?

Some people go by the 2, others go by the 8.
Myself I go by the distance from the rim.
A Large date is noticeably closer to the rim than a Small Date
which makes it easier to identify from a distance or a small photo.
