halfamind Pillar of the Community United States 1501 Posts	Posted 01/11/2021 8:29 pm Was just reading the thread on the undersized 194x LWC, which reminded me of this 1945 LWC I set aside decades ago. The only reason I knew of the smaller-than-usual diameter back then was the fact it wouldn't stay in Whitman coin board -- it would just fall right out. Someone mentioned that "small" 1945-P LWC is a known "variety." Any good documentation or reasoning for that? (And sorry about the poor photo quality. With such a thin rim, I think that someone may either spooned it or ground it down slightly. Mechanical damage of some sort. The "small" 1945-P LWC is larger than a dime but smaller than a standard cent. You'd never notice the smaller size, except that it falls right out of a Whitman album.
