Hi - I am a newer member of the wonderful world of numismatics, and would have to classify myself as more of a hoarder than a collector because I refuse to spend any of my pocket change now that I have discovered what fascinating fun collecting coins is!

I came across this unique looking 1995 Lincoln Penny in my "collection". It looks as if a colored commemorative coin got struck over the top of it, and I would LOVE to hear your opinions!

What have I got here? Come on, NO WHAMMIES!!

Thank you, in advance, for your help!

Sincerely,
Nattieice20

What you is what is known as cup holder stain.
It has just been stained with something. No extra value.

@natt, first welcome to CCF. Second, I would like to challenge your notion that if this coin is only worth face value, then you have only a "whammie". The knowledge gained from being able to spot environmental toning has value as well and helping folks learn is exactly why we are here.

I agree, environmentally stained, classic "cupholder" discolour/tarnish. It's good to ask questions, that's how we learn.

to the CCF! What else do you have to ask us about?
