While not the sought-after die 1, DDO-002 is still a very respectable doubled die. One of the stronger "bar under L" examples plus some nice doubling on the 962 of the date. Found this one in a roll.

I know this is a DDO but this one is a bit confusing. The 6 indeed looks smaller as in MD, so is this an example of the DDO coin having a bit of MD also?

You look at the width of the device, which doubling increases, not just the width from the edge to the separation line. I'm quite sure many a searcher has seen one of these and tossed it as MD, which it very much looks like at a glance.

Ooooh, OK. Thanks for making that clear, now I get it!

Thanks folks! This one isn't a very nice-looking coin but seemed instructional for searchers who might otherwise miss this one. And sadly it was all alone in the roll.

Yep. Thanks. This newbie would have thrown it back, thinking like Rothery about the six.
