First thing that came to mind was simply PMD caused by some type of tool, but then thought I would ask the forums if there would be anything in the minting process that cause this? Obverse does not have the same mark- just some edge flattening in the area. Thanks for your thoughts on this one. Report this Post to the Staff

Given the flattening on the obverse, I am highly inclined to think that it is PMD, as a hit strong enough to make such a mark on the reverse would likely affect the obverse too.
