High points seem pretty darn good to me. What are your thoughts?

Obverse has a reasonable strike, reverse is weakly struck. Worth no more than melt.

MS62 sounds right. Melt is currently $20.14. You can get $28.00+ for it pretty easily.

Thanks for the comments. NumisEd - I was told by other members on here that how a coin is struck would not affect the grade, but only what happens to the coin after the strike.

Other members have stated your opinion as well however... Which one is accurate? I really feel like that needs to be included in the TPGs mission statement...

Thanks bandsdean! I'll throw it in my silver pile if need be, but I have plenty of ms-64s that are worse off in terms of nicks and luster... Trying to figure out how to break that 64 barrier!

Quote: Worth no more than melt. I'll buy every Peace dollar you have of this quality for melt! I think it's an easy 63 and approaches MS64.

Quote:I'll buy every Peace dollar you have of this quality for melt! I don't find the coin attractive. And luster can be faked in any online photograph. There are even special filters in software packages like PhotoPaint that add "brilliance" to your coin.

I think the coin is attractive. I wouldn't brush it aside if I found it a 2x2 or capsule for a bit over melt. I admit, I'm biased. I simply like coins.

It's a typically soft strike, with lots of obverse die cracks, and a decent number of die polishing marks. Most of what I am seeing on the obverse are die cracks (the base of the neck is die crack city).
The contact marks are fairly minimal, with the hit near the "Y" of LIBERTY and a couple marks in the hair being the most evident. The reverse has more contact marks, mostly on the eagle. I see MS-64 obverse, MS-63 reverse, net technical grade MS-63+. There aren't a lot of plus grades for 63 coins, but this may be one of them. It looks just shy of MS-64 to me.

I also think it is a 63 not quite at 64.
