I'll say MS-62 as well.

Worth no more than melt.

I'll buy every Peace dollar you have of this quality for melt!

I think it's an easy 63 and approaches MS64.

I don't find the coin attractive. And luster can be faked in any online photograph.
There are even special filters in software packages like PhotoPaint that add "brilliance" to your coin.

I think the coin is attractive. I wouldn't brush it aside if I found it a 2x2 or capsule for a bit over melt. I admit, I'm biased. I simply like coins.

It's a typically soft strike, with lots of obverse die cracks, and a decent number of die polishing marks. Most of what I am seeing on the obverse are die cracks (the base of the neck is die crack city).

The contact marks are fairly minimal, with the hit near the "Y" of LIBERTY and a couple marks in the hair being the most evident. The reverse has more contact marks, mostly on the eagle. I see MS-64 obverse, MS-63 reverse, net technical grade MS-63+. There aren't a lot of plus grades for 63 coins, but this may be one of them. It looks just shy of MS-64 to me.

I also think it is a 63 not quite at 64.

Thanks for all the comments guys! Very big help. And fortcollins, I'll have to agree with Greasy Fingers over your assessment... Your comments always give me clarity and a sound resolution, words that seem to reflect nothing more than a passion and wealth of knowledge for the hobby.
Can I just give you this coin?

That's certainly nice for an "S", NumisEd!

I have a 1923 that looks similar, and kind of want to show you now...

Stephen-P the only reason I dropped this coin from 63 to 62 was eye appeal

That's alright panzaldi! That's the system we have today so I'm glad to hear people's honest opinions on here.
Easy to be biased toward our own coins!

Still don't understand why technical strengths of the coin don't play a bigger role what with all the technology we use today, but that's for another thread.
