Toning on the clad Kennedy halves probably doesn't matter too much one way or the other. If you're trying to fill an album, the newer toned clads (2002 to present) would be great for filling holes, IMHO. Toning on like-new silver coins (e.g. brilliant uncirculated 1964 Kennedy halves) is greatly desired by some.

Unless it's before 1971 or just jumps out of your hand (unlikely), I'd just return the whole load to the bank.

It's a personal decision on what you should keep. With few exceptions, only the 90 and 40% silver Kennedy halves of 1964 and 1965-70 command a premium, and that's only because of bullion value. Personally, I keep the 1987 and 2002-2021 halves I find in rolls, while some collectors, like @coinfrog, would not. Frog and others are correct in saying that the clad coins, toned or not, would not command a premium. In the end, you collect (or keep) what you like, valuable or not. If it's easier for you to just keep the silver pieces and return the rest to the bank, by all means do so.

I'll add that it appears the 2018-D halves are not true NIFCs - I've heard of many people receiving entire boxes of them. The high mintage of these coins relative to the other post-2001 years bears this out. I toss those, but I keep the other NIFCs if they're full BU and not damaged by the wrapping machines.

Sounds good . I have found half and half which to me and I'm no expert and cannot add my Two Cents but they look good and as before some have some nice toning of golds and blues.

So I finally got through the hoard of Kennedy's . 2 1964 , 24 40% a 1972 s and and odd 73 d that looks like the 72 and 35 coins from 2002-2018 and some are toned . Should I just return or sell back the 2002-2018 coins with the others. But I skipped over so many coins and not sure what else there is , though I saw at least 40 bicentennial coins . I thought CL to sell but no luck after a day.

That was not a bad haul from $2300 worth, actually better than average, congrats! All the rest I would toss back, but that's me.

Would you keep the 2002-2018 Kennedy's?
