Hello! I have a nickel that looks like it had a damaged dye or planchet...

@fury, the "smushed" up metal around those gouges makes me think that actually this is just old damage that has started to get worn flat.

For what it's worth, full, sharp photos of the coin's obverse and reverse would help establish the full context of what we'd be looking at. Thanks.

Would need to see the reverse pic - maybe a "POP" on the obverse that you show from being heated up on the reverse.
