Are these Mint Errors or Post Mint Error's ?. What caused them - can they be termed as broadstruck . In this state would they be termed as valid . These are modern day cents - could this anamoly be termed as a rarity. Regards Muhammad Asif
They appear to be out of round. So they are not a mint error. The Memorials were damaged from the obverse, with the reverse damaged by a flat surface. On the Shield cent, just the opposite. Both are spenders.
Definitely damaged coins. Kind of weird you would find 2 totally different coins with the exact same kind of damage. Maybe someone in your area is trying to fake error coins
Notice the raised material around the impact area. If it were level/flush with the surrounding devices/field it would be a struck thru error. If I am mistaken, I'm sure someone will correct me.
