Sounds like a good idea to check some references like John1 provided. Is the rest of the coin ok? There is something going on with the NW of "O" in "OF" that could be a simple nick or not, too. Wexler doesn't really cover nickels, which makes it a little harder to drill down, if you are looking to "go deep."

Sorry, I should have said bottom of the V is a partially filled die. The E does appear to be cracked. See how the top goes off to the left about 10 degrees and how the crack from the V hits the center of the E and a chip forms. Also the tops of all four letters are joined by a die break. The O of OF is a hit - there is a small scratch above it. Thanks for the error-ref site.
