Looks like environmental damage to me not an error.

Agree, environmental damage--exposure to an environmental agent which caused the blotchy discoloration. May have spend a little time 'in the ground'.

The type of environmental damage is heat stress.

Because the raised devices are starting to show the original color, showing that something is coating the surface. The more time in circulation, will remove more of this with more contact from other coins. Just a spender.

Environmental tarnishing/staining/or chemical/heat damage. Post mint damage ( PMD), no mint error here.
