Another thing I noticed is that the portraits of the first half dozen presidents look "puffy".

I keep saying I am a "newbie" but when it comes to modern coins, I have just about the same opinion I have of modern postage stamps... mostly awful designs, awful "print quality", awful subject matter. BUT HEY, who am I?

The susan b anthony dollar-just uglier than ever I'm not any fan of dollars since 1971 (sorry jbuck )  or maybe the ben franklin half for older coins And the Three Cent Silver isn't that ugly  |

I've been amazed at how cheap the reverse looks on the Presidential dollars. It looks to me like a cheaply made token. |

Probably franklin halfs & Ikes.
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better? |

I've never been a fan of the draped bust design on the silver coins. Especially the heraldic eagle reverse.
