I believe it is someone bidding on their own auction to try to trick unknowledgeable people on bidding more-all of the bids are by the same person except the most recent one-which possibly means that someone fell for it.

Many, many, many experienced ebay bidders do this on purpose to scare away other bidders. (scared you) Every time you raise your bid it shows as another bid even though the winning bid doesn't change. Also this can happen when someone just keeps trying and keeps getting "reserve not met."

Users bid activity with this seller is only 4%.

The winning bidder put their bid in more than 4 days before the auction ended. All of s***7's bids were put in in the last 23 minutes raising the bid from $80 to $921. Each time they bid they instantly got an out bid notice and bid again. So I see two possibilities, 2***7 is either a shill just running up s***1's high bid, or someone just "nickle and dimeing" trying to get it as low as he could and finally giving up. There were no retractions so it wasn't a shill running it up to expose the hid bid and then retracting to force the bidder to pay their may bid. And the under bidder gave up with at least wo more minutes in the auction so we don't know how much the winners proxy bid was. Of course if it was a shill he may have felt it was too close to the end and he wouldn't have time to retract if he exposed the max bid.

I guess the other question is why would a raw, common date Morgan be so valuable? The toning doesn't look particularly attractive to me.

I doubt that toning will ever make it into a TPG holder.....

IMO it's artificially toned.

Trying to understand that price - what grade would you place on that coin? According to PCGS it jumps from about $200 in MS64 to over $1000 in 65. Or maybe this wouldn't grade at all for AT.. sure seems weird.
