I'm not sure if it's supposed to look like this or not because it's the first one I have ever seen.
I have been looking at this coin for days now and am unavailable to take the quality pictures it deserves but I hope you can still see on the enlarged photos what I was wondering about.
Does anyone have a 2021 dime for comparison? At first I was thinking on in god we trust was DDD but they have just begun production so I don't think that is possible.
That's why I think it may possibly be a doubled die. I am far from an expert and I just wish I could show you quality photos of what I am looking at but hopefully these will do for now.
I have tried different lighting and angles but I have a horrible camera on my phone. Thank you for your time.

Just looks like slight die chatter. Not even enough to call it MD. The target area for doubled dies are in the center area of the design. Like this:

This area for dimes DDR reverses.

See, that is why I asked. I never heard of the term die chatter and I did not know that would even cause notching like that on the letters. I was taking an account for the 2012 2017 and 2019 dime that all three had an instance of extra thickness of the lettering that wexler categorized as a doubled die. How did those happen?

It the machine was looser, what looks like notching, would be MD. In order for a coin to be a doubled die, the die has to be doubled. A doubled die is not a strike issue, but hub doubling creating the die. But a doubled die can have Machine Doubling. But a normal die can not strike a doubled die. Also look at the die varieties for eh Dimes. Not much since 1973 for obverses, and a few new ones for the reverse with the doubling in the centers of the coin.

Yes, I know that much and that's why I was asking about the dimes listed on wexler's due to extra thickness for 2012-17 and 19
