@dar, this uniface Brakteat is almost certainly from medieval Germany. I'm not finding an exact match on numista, although this one from Zittau is kinda close if you rotate your top pic about 180 degrees.

I was thinking if you rotate the second photo 180, then instead of a letter m you have something close to the shield on Teutonic Order bracteates (but missing the crossbar): https://onebid.pl/en/coins-zakon-kr...nikow/715467
Silesian and Polish bracteates with a single letter are known (T and P in Silesia, S in Mazovia), but I could not find an M.
OK, I spoke too soon. There IS a Silesian bracteate with a letter M, though I am not quite sure it is a fit (the Gothic "angles" on the M in the link do not match the smooth curves on the OP coin)
