Quote:The 2019 catalogue # KCT2019SB looks cool to me, and I saw a few on ebay but it'll have to wait until I get the others I need. Yes, they look good, but I didn't buy any that year. :(

Quote: 1944 P Roosevelt dime No doubt, Carr did a nice job with this piece. Thanks for posting it! IMO, however, this is an example of Carr going a bit too far afield in the name of "Fantasy Overstrike." The Roosevelt dime was issued as a memorial to a fallen leader. FDR did not die until 1945 - a 1944 issue was not within the realm of possibility. Your 1975 Washington quarter - Eagle reverse, on the other hand, could have happened and makes for a better fantasy piece. Again, IMO. Thanks again for continuing to share these Carr pieces - I enjoy seeing them!

Canceled Die 1964-D Morgan dollar (Clashed Dies) Die pair-1 Production date- May 2017 Mintage-108 The 1964-D Morgan silver dollar is a coin that almost was. When the US Mint was instructed to start producing 1964 silver dollars, the order did not specify what design to use. So the US Mint investigated using the Morgan design and the Peace design. Eventually the Peace design was chosen and 316,076 1964-D Peace silver dollars were struck at the Denver Mint in May of 1965. Those coins were subsequently destroyed. No 1964 Morgan dollars were minted. In September 2016 a Coin World article revealed that archives at the US Mint in Philadelphia contain galvanos and master hubs for 1964 Morgan and 1964 Peace dollars. According to the article, none of the hubs and master dies found have a "D" mint mark. Enjoy!
