This coin has a recorded mintage of 2,580,480 but is extremely scarce and is catalogued at £150 in Fine. This was another of my lucky purchases - 3p from a dealer's junk tray back in the 1980s! 1905 halfcrown. Mintage 166,008. Picked up for £140 with a whole lot of other silver coins from my LCS in 1981. 1847 Gothic Crown. Mintage 8,000. Bought about 15 years ago from a major dealer in Northern England. There are a few dates that have been recorded 1934,1937 proof,1966,1967. It has been a bit of a mission of mine since I knew of their existence hundreds of searches prob thousands now and from all I have located The 1934,1937 from the known ones of which still only a handful are known.But I have added to the list 1918,1920 and 1931. you'll notice on the 1918 the smallest wave next to the shield is almost completely missing. this feature also appears on the 1920. My Charles the First halfcrown, Tower mint 1635/36 Crown and it only cost me $165 (£85) last year. Not the best condition, but 1829 is a pretty scarce date Again not rare, but rarely seen in this condition (AU/BU) yet dozens exist of this date in VG - VF condition. Report this Post to the Staff
