HI all, Thoughts on this 1927 Peace. Is it toning? Is it worth trying to remove? And grade. Thanks in advance!

Don't know what that dark stuff is. Looks like something got onto this dollar and stained it. Have you tried a good acetone soak. Grade I'm thinking 50, possibly 53 if that dark stuff doesn't details it.

You might try soaking it acetone, but guessing there is no way to tackle those spots without making them worse.

Don't know if you noticed, but it is a D mint mark. John1

Staining. Acetone may work--can't hurt, give it a try.

It might come off with acetone, unless it's corroded underneath. Quote: Don't know if you noticed, but it is a D mint mark. I think that's an artifact, not a D mintmark.

It does appear to be stained. Though a slightly better date, in circulated grades those spots won't hurt the value much. A $50 piece at retail.

something got on the coin at some point. an acetone bath wont hurt and may lighten those stains especially the dark edges.
