yup, now you got me looking. It seems like the ASE/AGE's are getting the cheap display boxes, BUT! But, the presidential medal series are still in the green hinged velvet boxes..! what gives?

Is this how the Mint celebrates the new design? what a failure in my mind, a huge disappointment

I didn't realize they went with cheaper boxes for type 2. They should have kept the better hinged box for type 2 release and started cheaper boxes in 2022. All about money I suppose.

Correct, more expensive coin, MUCH cheaper packaging.. I was getting ready to post up that fine box it came in.

Wow, agreed...yet another disappointment from our "friends" at the U.S. Mint.

I have quite a number of the velvet boxes left over from all the ASEs I've popped into my CAPS albums. I guess I will be recycling some of them going forward. Historically that cheap flocked tray was always the treatment for the uncirculated issues, not the proof.

So I've tried for a week now and cannot get it at 730AM EDT. For what seems a few seconds, a backorder button shows up but every time I click on it nothing happens. A few seconds later it goes back to unavailable again. On the other hand the "Remind Me" button works perfectly fine (if not useless). Anyone else have a similar experience?

First week's sales figures have just been posted:
Precious Metal Products 21EAN 2021 AM EAGLE SILVER PROOF 1 OZ NEW (W) 298852 7/25/2021
Precious Metal Products 21EAN040 2021 AM EAGLE SILVER PROOF 1 OZ NEW (W) - 40 COIN 2142 7/25/2021

That makes 384,532 coins sold to date. Not exactly justifying the current premiums, but what do I know...

@CelticKnot The product is just the first line:

Quote:
Precious Metal Products 21EAN 2021 AM EAGLE SILVER PROOF 1 OZ NEW (W) 298852 7/25/2021

The coin/mintage is both lines.

They switch up the times now. Used to be consistently at 7:30 edt but no longer the case. Just have to have that page open, refresh every now and then and hope you get lucky. My last attempt was with the Morgan's and scored some around 7:48 edt.

Thus my question.

I've spent a couple minutes trying to figure this out and I can't.

We got 15 into the shop yesterday. Real pretty, though a lot had light hazing in the fields between the letters of Liberty.

You need to look at this info which is available for every item the US Mint offers:

Item Number: 21EAN

Mintage Limit: None
Product Limit: 300,000

While there will only be 300k of this coin in the presentation box with certificate etc., the US Mint can mint as many as they want and sell them just in a capsule. Hence the second line in the sales figures which is for a roll of 40 for authorized dealers or whatever they are called. If you add them up you get to the number shown above.

My tracking shows my eagle is at the post office. 100 miles away in a different city.
