Watermelon Valued Member United States 83 Posts	Posted 07/03/2021 2:54 pm Hi All, This is 1 of 2 Morgan Coins I got from my family and they both have distinct separation lines. the gold part looks flaky and not sure if these coins had tape on them or they toned this way? There are signs of gold-ish tone in other areas other other than where the "tape if any was." I'm new to everything coin related! Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

Ty2020b Pillar of the Community United States 4680 Posts	Posted 07/03/2021 3:23 pm Yes, looks like there was tape over that area for a good number of years, residue is what you are seeing. You can try removing with acetone, or xylene if acetone won't remove it. Regardless, looks like a Details, Environmental Damage coin to me. Possibly polished at one point as well, but that could just be the plastic from the 2x2 causing that effect. Report this Post to the Staff
