I agree @john that these silver Pennies can get really spendy. I'll be posting one in a few decades, but that Aethelred is my only English coin from the 10th Century. Here is a Stamenon Nomisma from the Byzantine Empire that was minted between 1028 and 1034 AD. I have attributed it as S-1819.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Ok here is my last coin for this decade, a Chinese Cast Cash from the Northern Song Dynasty. It can be dated to between 1023 and 1031 AD. I have attributed it as Hartill 16.76.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

It is going to be pretty quiet for me until we get to the Roman empire. I have a handful to post over the next 6 centuries but not much.

But we never get to the Roman Empire because of the 410s. The only coins datable to that decade are expensive. The problem is Theodosius II, who had a long reign with undatable coins. This is as far back as I go. 1000-38 Hungarian Denar under King Stephen I;Huszar 1,Unger 1,Rethy I-1,CAC Vol. I/1.3/1/?. The reverse comes close but does not quite match any of the variations listed.   |

Tesorillo has 411-413 and I think Warren Etsy must get the dates from there. He then aligns them with RIC 1361 and 1365-7. This Randpfennig was minted some where in the 11th Century in Poland. No inscriptions, but I can identify a bishop's crook and cross. It is attributed as Gum. #59 and has a slightly raised edge from some sort of damage I think.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."
