If that was genuine, it would have been worth over $300,000.

All 1936 1c dot coins are specimen strikes - why do people always assume they'll find a business strike example out in the wild?

Easy to see why you would think it's a 1936 dot on account of it has a dot. Sadly, it's the wrong dot....keep looking!

Not looking for the dot 36. Just noticed it on ebay when I looking and saw that. I should have put a heading of look who got burnt

I could not agree more, however, it would be futile to hunt for a 1936 dot cent.

I believe one famous collector at one point owned all the examples until just a few years ago former mint masters donated a set to the BOC museum, kind of tells you all need to know about this coin type
