MD?
DDD?

Vending Machine Damage?

IMHO, these all seem inconsistent with the photos.
Look again at the separation lines and split serifs on E PLURIBUS UNUM. There is no "shelf like" doubling which you would see if this was MD. And the coin does not appear to have any line scratches traveling between the devices or obvious dings on the reverse consistent with
PMD. I have provided additional photos with arrows highlighting the doubling, separation lines, and split serifs which are consistent with
DDR.

There are split serifs on the bottom left of E, P and L; and the devices are enlarged at the bottom of each, not lessened as you would see with MD. The separation lines do not appear to be lines of scratches you might see if caused by MD or
PMD.

The separation lines in U are curved within the device, not what you would see with MD or straight line scratches. R and I have split serifs.
The devices appear enlarged.

B in PLURIBUS exhibits a split serif on the bottom left edge. The S has a curved separation line. Neither seem consistent with a scratch line or
PMD; the devices appear enlarged.

Both U's in UNUM exhibit the same curved separation lines as in the separation line in the U in PLURIBUS, and both have split serifs on the right bottom legs. All of the devices appear enlarged by the doubling, which is not consistent with MD; and there are no obvious scratch lines indicating
PMD. Also there is no evidence of
DDD on the rest of the devices on the top portion of the reverse--wouldn't that be evident if this doubling was
DDD?
Can you definitely rule out
DDR as the cause of the reverse doubling? If you have seen another coin with
DDD,
PMD or MD that has doubling similar to that on this coin I would like to see it for comparison purposes.
Thanks in advance for your input.
