I'm trying to figure out the year of this 199? cent because as we all know there is transitional errors and other things to look for on these coins but I am also curious as to why the word America is shaped the way it is. Is that just from the copious amount of grease it was struck through? I loaded multiple pictures with different lighting just to make sure that it is visible in hopes that you can help me figure it out.

Very cool find! It's obviously a Wide AM but in my opinion, a 1998, at best but who knows. This coin has much going on and would not want to add to the conjecture.

Strange enough I thought it was a 96. So coop, you believe that it's a 90? And what about the shape of the letters on America is that from the Grease Filled Die or is there something else that caused it

Well they are normal sized. So that is not a doubled die either. Just a spender.

I didn't think it was a double die I was just wondering why it was pointy and stuff like that I've never seen one like that and the weird shape of the C and E both I just didn't know if you had maybe another explanation for it or something I hadn't thought of. I suppose I will chalk it up to Grease doing what it's going to do when it gets trapped into tight spaces
