@NumisRob - I have the much-more common 1826 shilling, but also unfortunately holed (picked it up with some junk silver about 20 years ago...).

Nice circulation cameo though.

Another British coin that could have circulated in Australia or New Zealand - an 1849 halfcrown. Mintage: 261,360.

Makes mine look positively fresh!
Maybe Otto should add his 1877 halfcrown here. That is a true lowball.

2016 change-over coins. The 20 cent is very hard to find over my way.

Yes I agree, however some of those dates are not particularly low mintage. On the positive side I would say your 2 1900 Halfcrowns are badly cleaned coins from the Elingamite and these coins have a big premium as they are "Treasure".
They sat on the bottom of the sea for 65 years.

Not as bad as some posted here, but my 1844 crown isn't very pretty - but the mintage figure is under 100,000!

I like it, those coins had a limited issue between 1844/47 and got a lot of use all over the empire. You seldom see them in grades above fine.
My guess is those coins got around!

Quote: it is the lowest of lowballs would you not agree I can't argue with that! I once owned a George V Wreath crown (1927-36 issue) in Poor condition with the last two figures of the date completely worn off. I bought it for melt value and traded it with another collector after I bought two decent specimens. Sadly I never took a photo of it. My guess is that it was someone's pocket piece. I also once had an 1875H British penny (mintage 752,640 and catalogued at £2500 in UNC) in about VF but with TWO large holes very crudely punched in it!

This is the ONLY predecimal silver coin I've ever found in circulation in Australia. Found it noodling through some 10 cent coins. It took a few looks for my eyes to register that the queen on the obverse wasn't Elizabeth II but Victoria. Excitement quickly faded as I came to terms with the condition it was in. 1885 Great Britain shilling. Mintage 3.3 million.
