Up for your consideration are 2 quarters. One is a Georgia state and the other is a Virginia. My camera does not do the discoloration justice but both of the quarters have a slight gold-ish tinge to them. I added the third quarter for reference.

Also on the Georgia quarter, could someone tell me what is going on around the bottom.

Guessing this is just typical environmental toning.

Environmental toning plays a role. Too, planchet coloration is not perfectly identical across the minting process. Two-three years ago I noticed that some (not all) freshly minted Philly quarters had a slightly warmer tone than Denver minted quarters of the same year--just enough to notice.

Agree about the toning.

On the Georgia quarter, looks like a collar clash. That's more interesting.

Slightly blackened tone coins would be the result of mild heat stress.
Heat them to red heat, and they will turn to nearly jet black.

Just be very aware of ebay offerings that allege 'improper annealing' or similar.

The golden tone is normal toning and the collar clash is the right call,no added value though.

Yall mentioned "collar" clash and I'm guessing that's an error. What makes some errors worth more, less, or have any value at all.
