@zan, it sounds to me like you are saying that some letters have split serifs. I can't see this due to the slight bluriness of these pics though. Any chance of you posting a close-up that is a little more clear? Thx.

Note there are few doubled dies after a certain date. So they are not found on many years.

Same on the DDRs. Take a look and see which ones not to bother to look at. Probably all you are seeing is Machine Doubling.

Thanks again community ill take sharper pictures after tutorial. I know the picture and yes they are split. I know pictures arent that good . I have to learn perfect lighting or watch tutorial. However. In the picture of the coin with in god and the 1 in date . The 1 and d when zoomed in I can still faintly see the 1 and in the g. Its as if theres a black letter under the stamp ones. The L has it outside on both top and bottom. And at the hook is where I see another little hook. Under the bottom kf T both sides. The 1 is super thick as if 3d off the planchet. What causes the letters to be surrounded by dark black shadow. And was the 1989 D even made for circulation. Or was it 1987. I will be paparazzi soon. 3 more hrs of work. Thank you again community.
