Good morning was wondering if someone and give me input on the Kennedy half dollar. On the date on the one in God we trust the word Liberty. Has tails 20 letters and when you look in the corners of those points you'll see it another point like under the tea at the top the Y the L on the inside the r at the tip of the tail by the hair. Was just wondering if I stumbled across double die obverse. Thank you and have a great day

@zan, it sounds to me like you are saying that some letters have split serifs. I can't see this due to the slight bluriness of these pics though. Any chance of you posting a close-up that is a little more clear? Thx.

Although the pictures are out of focus and blurry, your coin looks normal with no indication of doubling other than lighting glares. Also there are no DDO listing for this year.

Check out the listing for DDO on Variety Vista:

Note there are few doubled dies after a certain date. So they are not found on many years.

Same on the DDRs. Take a look and see which ones not to bother to look at. Probably all you are seeing is Machine Doubling.

Thanks again community ill take sharper pictures after tutorial. I know the picture and yes they are split. I know pictures arent that good . I have to learn perfect lighting or watch tutorial. However. In the picture of the coin with in god and the 1 in date . The 1 and d when zoomed in I can still faintly see the 1 and in the g. Its as if theres a black letter under the stamp ones. The L has it outside on both top and bottom. And at the hook is where I see another little hook. Under the bottom kf T both sides. The 1 is super thick as if 3d off the planchet. What causes the letters to be surrounded by dark black shadow. And was the 1989 D even made for circulation. Or was it 1987. I will be paparazzi soon. 3 more hrs of work. Thank you again community. Talk to you soon
