I just came across this one and just wondering on what you have to say and I apologized if my photos are not well captured.
Obverse seems to show Abe's chin/neck triangle area having extra beard and die scratches on the fields. Also, is the bow tie the normal design variety for this year!
Reverse shows die clash and die scratches. Also, there seem to be an extra column on the left side of Bay 5 and on the right side of Bay 7. Coincidentally these are the exact positions for the false columns. I am seeing a complete separation from it though but your opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also, questions on the arches and all the other mixed up vertical and horizontal lines therein. Did heavy polishing caused all these?
For sure this is a mint error but is this prevalent on the coins from the 70's?
Hope to hear from your expert opinions. Thank you.
Bag mark on the beard. Note it's an incuse mark. Clashes happen on field level areas that make contact from opposite dies, transferring damage to the opposite dies.
