Not really sure what a Cud IS, But from what I've read or seen it's something like this correct?

Definitely damage. I'd bet if you look at the reeding on the edge in these regions, you will see flattened spots.

A Cud would be taller than the rim and the rim would not exist on that area. Also the opposite side of the coin would be weak on that area.
