Quote: Did I miss anything? Yes. The new, regular price of $99 per coin will be for run-of-the-mill versions. But if you want the "silk-glove" treatment and be guaranteed no scratches, than you have to pay $199 per coin. Of course, if you don't pay, US Mint employees will simply grab the coins with their sweaty hands, toss the coins in a carton and ship them to you as is.

Barkeep , Do not forget they will cherry pick those first 10% so they all get 70'S for the Special Mint Customers. Then we can get the rest.

As a buyer of this year's releases, I would like to see them protect the rarity and not flood the market with them over several years. With mintages of 175-200,000 they have created a "small batch" set of coins. That said, I would be happy if they produced a one year only proof/reverse proof also of limited mintage similar to this year's. To protect this year's coins, I'd suggest only offering proofs/reverse proofs from one or two mints. We'd all be able to see what a Morgan/Peace dollar looks like in proof/reverse proof but maintain rarity. Ultimately, I'd like to see the mint create new designs and improve quality of the entire process.

Must be the new TikTok lick-a-coin challenge that's been sweeping mints world wide ...

Oy, I don't know if I could do anymore of these if they make this a yearly thing. I'm still on the fence if I want to continue collecting the ASE proofs. I'm not too fond of the new reverse design.

Would it be possible for the Mint to do a Morgan and Peace dollar in gold? Or is it stipulated that it has to be silver?

Quote: Would it be possible for the Mint to do a Morgan and Peace dollar in gold? Or is it stipulated that it has to be silver? The mint has no limitation on gold coins. They can create I pretty much believe any coin in gold, but there are limitations to number of sales/cost. A 1 ounce gold Morgan or Peace would be priced over $2000 reducing the number of collectors.
