Was able to put my recipient's gift in the mail today. Looking forward to seeing how they like it.

@Princetane , sadly I think you probably even prefer some of the nicer proof US set that you can get for cheap. *wink he likes them silver british coins. Hopefully gifter just new (first time jitters), and won't make the same mistake next time. I guess it depends on the location :D i guess it could have been worse, it's the thought that counts.

Just to say that I am now away until January 5th. Santa had not delivered my gift before I left home, so I won't get it until after I return! Against all sensible travel advice I have flown to Boston in Massachussets for some sightseeing before getting an Amtrak train to Florida to join a cruise ship... Hope all CCF members have a very happy Christmas!

Boston has lots to see and the weather is fairly good right now - we have no snow or ice yet. Both Logan Airport and South Station are under construction (again) so give yourself a few extra minutes to get around. If you have a sleeper cabin on Amtrak you'll be just fine. The cabins are tight but good enough for one night. Bring snacks. I assume you're gonna take a taxi from the train station in Fort Lauerdale or Miami to the cruise terminal? I once walked 7 miles from the cruise terminal in FLL to the Amtrak station. Felt great after a 15-day cruise but it's not for everyone. PM if you need travel tips.
PS: The only thing I love more than coins is travel. :)

Boston is a lovely city to visit. Hope you will dress warmly. Do see the landmarks if you have time.
Elf just informed me that my packet is in the receiver's city now and it is being put on Santa's sleigh. Right now, It is up in the air! Off to this person's chimney.

Elf just updated me that Santa had dropped off the present at this person's residence. He said Santa was very merry about it.
Now I am looking forward to the person's reaction.
Fingers crossed!

Well something Excellent and unexpected happened to me just now. I got an envelope in the mail. well first I just got notified that my Morgan O and CC coins got graded as MS70 (yes I know unrelated to the better news - All 5 of my Morgan dollars have been graded as MS70 ), just wanted to express how good this day turned out in a matter of 5 minutes. Now onto the better news. The package I just got in the mail came from: Colhand1! A bunch of very nice coins and a hand scripted note. I have never seen a 0.25¢ paper note before! This one will go into my Foreign Bill Collection- of which I have over several hundred of - I think this one is the best so far. In addition 2 silver coins a 2 dollar Canadian and a 1962 Canadian 1 dollar coin. (the 1962 is my birth year and it will go into my birth year world coin collection.) In addition I got 2 Jefferson error coins: And 2 buffalo (Bison - for those that prefer that nomenclature) Nickels: And 1 Indian Head cent (of which I did not have until now), This will go into my Dansco 7070 album. Thank you Dave (Colhand1), Your gift was very unexpected, BUT VERY VERY appreciated. Thank you so much, John. P.S. (On a side note, I no longer think that you are a jerk )

That's an amazing gift especially because it was unexpected. That really is great news!
I especially love the Canadian silver but they're all nice pieces. That's a great gift from @Colhand1. Well done!
